His career is marked by pivotal roles in business development, market strategy, clinical implementation, and technological innovation, emphasizing a patient-centric approach in clinical settings.
Ogan has extensive understanding of healthcare challenges from fee-for service to value-based care, from population health to clinical service line impact. He spent over a decade towards transforming precision medicine to just medicine. His strategic vision in cross-functional teams has catalyzed the implementation of precision medicine in health care significantly impacting clinical service lines.
Identifying fundamental problems in healthcare and developing solutions for them are key to long-term success. Ogan believes in the jobs-to-be-done framework to focus on solving a problem with the product/solution. This has led to successful partnerships, enhancing systems integration and facilitating complex partnerships from pre-sales bidding/proposal development to post-sales phases.
Clinical genomics and diagnostics is evolving and transforming care delivery. However, there is still a long way to go in full implementation. Ogan has built strong expertise over the years in industry in identifying and developing market opportunities essential for the advancement of clinical genomics and diagnostic solutions for future investment and current wins.
Marketing in the field of clinical genomics demands a nuanced understanding of the market and its segments. Ogan led ambitious marketing initiatives that have significantly enhanced brand visibility and showcased thought leadership. His strategic approach to market research and customer insights has been vital in expanding the awareness of genomics within the medical community.
From concept to bidding to piloting to implementation, each healthcare organization is unique. Ogan was a key member of cross-functional teams supporting multiple global initiatives bringing genomics closer to patients.
As a scientist at heart, Ogan has a solid background in next-generation sequencing technologies, molecular biology, python, large-scale data analysis, cloud and high performance computing. After receiving his PhD from Georgetown University, Ogan spend six years at the National Cancer Institute working on developing bioinformatics and programming skills towards large scale data processing and insights generation. His research at the National Cancer Institute, leveraging his expertise in next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and molecular biology, was instrumental in utilizing genomic technologies for biomarker discovery and diagnostic applications, driving advancements in precision medicine. His approach to technological leadership is all about knowing "I don't know what I don't know", which allows him to continuously learn, adapt, and innovate in the rapidly evolving field of precision medicine.
Ogan’s contributions extend beyond clinical implementation of genomic technologies to encompass due diligence, data and cloud strategies, comprehensive market development and positioning and collateral support. His track record in thought leadership activities, customer and market segmentation with marketing strategy/tactical execution underlines his commitment to not just advancing the field of precision medicine, but also ensuring it is accessible and beneficial for all.
Ogan enjoys time outdoors with family and friends. In no particular order hiking, grilling or both are his favorite outdoor activities.
